The Mom

Hey there, I am Angie. I grew up on a small ranch in Nevada. I spent most childhood days building forts, playing in the fields, getting muddy, and playing sports with my siblings till way after dark.  I was lucky enough to ride out to the range with my Grandpa as we listened to Jonny Cash. I learned to hunt from my father.  I think it is safe to say that I was a bit of a tom boy! My passion was sports. I played college basketball for a few years, fell madly in love with a boy named Eric, and we started our family. We had our first son and before we could even name him I delivered twin boys. That is a joke of course, it didn’t happen quite that fast! My passion for fitness continued as I became a fitness instructor. A few years down the road, we are now blessed with 5 loveable, crazy boys!! And we lived happily ever after……………Wait! Life can’t really be that easy, right?

I am going to cut to the chase. This last year, my mom fear became reality when our darling child, Blake Bo, got very ill. I felt scared, helpless, and immense pressure as “the mom”.  I am not a college graduate. My pictures may not be glamorous. I am not a writer by trade, but I am real. I will show you my struggles as well as my triumphs.  I have cried many tears trying to figure out how to eat healthy in a convenient world. As much as I wish I could wave a magic wand and heal him, I couldn’t. Giving up was never an option. So, I focused on things I could control. A huge part of that is what goes into our bodies. I can now say with confidence that I believe what we eat can kill us or cure us! It has been a miracle to watch his body and mind heal before our eyes. We still have a long ways to go but we can look back and see how far we have come.

It has not been easy but trust me when I say…..If we can do it, so can you! I will give you insight into our family life as we have transformed from the regular American diet to eating right. It is a process, an emotional and physical journey. Join us!!

I am also a Youth Exercise Specialist and certified Fitness Instructor, so lets move!!

And just in case you are getting the wrong idea about me, this is me on the daily. Hair up, sweats and boots are a must LOL!! Just keeping it real.
